About Reprojobs

ReproJobs was an organization from 2014-2024 that believed in the radical possibility that organizations within the reproductive health, rights, and justice movements can lead the progressive movement by providing healthy, supportive, and empowering workplace environments that include inclusive cultures, generous policies, and thriving wages.

 Our Values

At ReproJobs, we believed that the reproductive health, rights, and justice movements must prioritize the rights and well-being of workers if we want to win.

WE BELIEVE THAT ALL WORKERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO:

  • Organize and demand accountability from management and leadership;

  • A thriving wage and transparency in how that wage was determined;

  • Respect and dignity, which is a crucial component of fulfilling the mission of any reproductive health, rights, and justice organization.

WE BELIEVE IN THRIVING AND INCLUSIVE WORKPLACES, WHICH INCLUDE:

  • A culture of respect for employees as full human beings both at work and outside of work;

  • Transparent, compassionate, and honest management practices, including frequent training, support, and evaluation of managers from their direct reports and peers;

  • Detailed employment and benefits policies that reflect the values of the organization and support employees both in doing their jobs and sustaining healthy lives;

  • Thorough, equitable, and clearly defined hiring practices that explicitly address racism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of discrimination;

  • Frequent meaningful opportunities for staff  to name how systems of oppression and privilege operate within the workplace in order to transform these systems.

Our Origin Story

ReproJobs started out as a fun idea, a “what if?” between friends. In 2014, after hearing about the difficult job search of a close friend and reflecting on the mix of luck and circumstance in our own career trajectories, we decided to create a resource for job seekers.

Intended as a simple side project,  ReproJobs transitioned from a jobs hub to a values-driven movement water cooler, where staff and leaders alike learn how to demand better policies and live their values at work. We’ve created a climate of accountability focused on addressing the way employees are treated and ensuring it is just as important as an organization’s mission, vision, and values.

To date, we’ve worked both publicly and behind the scenes to demand that organizations working to promote abortion rights also have health insurance for their employees that covers abortion, that organizations fighting for equal pay also pay their employees and interns a living wage, and that organizations working to end the maternal mortality crisis have a comprehensive paid leave policy. We have done all of this using social media (Facebook and Twitter), and while remaining anonymous.

ReproJobs sunsetted on July 31, 2024 after a decade of organizing.

Why We’re Anonymous

So many of you have asked why we stay anonymous. It makes sense that you want to know who we are – we get that curiosity! We maintain that for ReproJobs to do our best work, we need to de-center ourselves and instead, focus on what we’re here to do: push organizations, foundations, and even individual hiring managers in our movement to live their values. This is about all of us as a collective workforce seeking to set a higher bar for organizational behavior and standards.
